Pay and Display Car Parking charges now apply every day during opening hours.

Charges are £1 for up to 2 hours and £2 for the remainder of the day.

 

For Park closing times please check the time boards adjacent to the four pay and display ticket machines.

Disabled Blue Badge holders displaying their badge at the windscreen of their vehicle are exempt from charges.

Coaches over 16 seats are free.

 

Annual Season tickets will be available to purchase from 1st September 2007.

Price tariff for Redbridge residents is £90

and £140 for non-residents.

Proof of residence is required to qualify for the redbridge discount.

Application forms will be available on Redbridge i or if you would like to be sent a copy by post

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION’ Valentines Park

11am – 1pm meet at Boat House near the Boating Lake, entrance via ‘The Wash’ gates opposite junction of The Drive and Cranbrook Road.

House Sparrows are under threat in cities and have to find new places to live, come and join in a self guided nature trail and learn a bit about the ‘cockney sparrer’ population in Redbridge.  All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

FAIRLOP BUNNY HOP

Meet at Fairlop Waters 12 noon, parking in Golf Course car park.  

Come along and try to solve clues on this self-guided nature trail, keep your eyes peeled for the Easter Bunny!  Suitable for family groups, children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.  Terrain can be unsuitable for buggies depending on weather.

The nature conservation team will be part presenting on topics regarding the Roding environmental enhancement project at the back of Ray Park (with the Environment Agency) as well as fielding questions on the Biodiversity Action Plan.

We are running ‘nature detective’ activities for family groups throughout the summer holidays from 11am to 1pm.  All children must be accompanied by an adult and dressed appropriately for the weather and terrain.  Limited places and their will be a fee per child attending, so booking is essential!  Contact the Nature Conservation Team nearer the time for details.

Civic Trust has awarded Hainault Forest Country Park The Green Flag Award for 2006/7. This scheme sets the standard for Parks and Green Spaces across England and Wales, managed by the Civic Trust on behalf of the Green Flag Award Advisory Board and supported by English Heritage. It’s a first for London Borough of Redbridge.    

Pay & Display Car Parking at Hainault Forest Country Park now applies during opening hours. £1.00 for up to 2 hours and £2.00 for the remainder of the day. For Park closing times please check the time boards adjacent to ticket machines.  

No Booking Required, with the exception of our presentation on 28 May please telephone the Country Park Office on 0208 500 7353 to reserve your seat.  All Events and Activities are Free

Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

Daylight is growing and Winter will soon be gone. Come on a walk to mark the early beginnings of Spring and see the first signs of life returning to the land. Hear about the old traditional customs of the day such as smashing your crockery !. As this is the traditional time to start Spring cleaning, you might like to grab a litter picker and help to Spring clean the forest along the way !.

 

 

Half Term Recycling Craft Workshops

Suitable for children aged 4/10 years old

 

Collect and bring your clean empty plastic and cardboard containers to the workshop and find out how you can make them into something useful. Also find out how important it is to recycle for our Environment.

Meet by the Barn Owls enclosure at 10.30 a.m. lasts approx 1 hour.

Come and assist the Countryside Wardens with the animal’s morning feed and learn more about them.

This is an opportunity for Nature Enthusiasts to join in the ramble around Hainault Forest to mark Equinox, when night and day are the same length. Discover Spring is in the air, you will be shown all things of interest and woodland wildlife that can be found this time of the year.

We are celebrating Easter this year in our Visitor Centre with Easter bonnets, chicks and rabbits. Hop along and make an Easter Bonnet and join in the Easter fun. Rabbits and chicks will be in the Visitor Centre to view.

The Maypole dance is a well known celebration, so come on a walk to celebrate the awakening of Spring, ending with a dance round the Hainault Maypole!

Hear about the Beltane fires and why it is customary to leap over the fire three times.
